Brawl

Brawl is a 60 card Commander using only cards from standard so rules for creating your deck would be

  • 1 Legendary creature or planeswalker that allows using it as a commander.
  • 59 other cards with no more than 1 of each card except for basic lands, each of these cards must have same color identity as your commander.
  • All cards in your deck must be standard legal

When you have more than 2 players each player starts with life total of 30, if only 2 players then 25 is your starting life total.
First mulligan is to 7 cards
If your commander dies or is exiled you can set it to commander zone, each time you play it after first it costs 2 colorless mana more/times it has died.

What would be your favorite Brawl commander from the current standard cards?

Pauper

Pauper is a additional rule for creating decks or even cubes.

In Pauper no cards that are have not been printed as common are legal. So no rares, no mythic rares and no uncommons, unless they have been separately printed also as commons.

Which pauper deck do you think is the most powerful?

Jungle draft

Jungle draft is when you have boosters from many different sets instead of each player having same set of boosters, for maximal fun have different boosters for all players so no booster is repeated.

This takes down the chance for people to study the cards of the set and play knowing the format as there is so many different sets that it would be difficult to study the sets to know what is going to happen and which cards are going to be in these boosters.

What would be your favorite 3 boosters to open in a jungle draft?

Winchester Draft

Winchester Draft is good for cube or when drafting with 2 or 4 players.

It works like this

  • First decide with a die who goes first.
  • Each player sets 2 cards from their shuffled boosters in front of them, these 4 cards set the 4 piles that we will be using.
  • Each time you pick a pile you pick all the cards in it.
  • After each pick you each players sets 2 cards to each pile in front of him, maintaining the amount of piles in same 4.

This way the piles that are not picked normally grow to have more cards than the others, and growing until one of the players picks it. Drafting continues until all 3 boosters of each player are completely empty.

What is the best “pile” you have picked in Winchester draft?

Two headed Giant

Two headed Giant is a way to play either Constructed or Limited games.

In Two headed Giant you play together with another player against 2 other players

  • You share life total and start at 30 lifes
  • You take turns together, you attack and block together.
  • First mulligan is to 7 cards
  • You do not share mana or cards.
  • Cards that target Each opponent counts it from both players so it works twice.

What would be the best team up of 2 decks?

Commander

In Commander you have the following rules for constracting your deck:

– You need to have legendary “Commander” creature or Planeswalker.
– You will have at least 99 other cards that have no colors that your commander does not have.
– No card appears more than once with the exception of basic lands.

What is your favorite for Commander?

Highlander

There is several variants of Highlander rules (mainly ban lists) but most of them have the following rules

You can only have 1 card of each type except for basic lands.

Your deck must have at least 100 cards in it.

Conspiracy

Conspiracy is a special set, and a card type. The set was created for drafting multiplayer drafts.

The special Conspiracy cards are not in your deck and are not counted for your deck limit, and you can have as many as you want of these conspiracy cards in the side of your deck.

Some of the conspiracy cards or “draft matters” cards within the set will ask you to write down a number or color or something else and they are normally drafted face up.

Vanguard

Vanguard is a special card type and a extra you could add to any game if you just have 1 of these cards for each player.

Vanguards affect how many cards you draw at beginning of the game how big is your maximum hand size and your starting life total.

Vanguards each have a special ability that you can use during the game.

Vanguards are not considered cards in game so they cannot be affected by other cards.

Vanguard

Planechase

Planechase is another official MTG casual format.

When playing a Planechase you need a special Planechase deck and dice. These Planes represent where you are fighting on the moment.

The dice represent you either planewalking or tapping into the planes strength. You get 1 free die roll per turn and then for each after that you have to pay extra mana.

Other than that you play normally.
