Remaking decks better!

After my latest solo game with 4 commander decks, I noticed that

  • 1. My decks are not in balance
  • 2. I need a way to deal with single targets that are threats.

So to have a idea I watched this video: https://youtu.be/3K9PEeLG_6M andcgot the following quideline

  • 10-12 Manaramp
  • 10 Card Draw
  • 10-12 Single Target removal
  • 3-4 Board Wipes
  • 35-38 lands

They also had some good defining there, that really hit home, as I recently changed most Mana Artifacts in Sefris Venture to be creature’s that search lands to your hand, that does not classify as ramp.

So to start out the progress I took each of these 4 decks and laid them out with these categories

Still having some cards ln wrong piles.

So lets have some Stats of our own:

Ramp: S4 N13 G16 A13

Card Draw: S5, N12, G9, A8

Targeted Removal: S6, N7, G1, A6

Board Wipes: S1, N1, G0, A11

Lands: S36, N37, G32, A36

Changes done:

Draws
Mills
End of Nekusar Turn 6.

Turn 23, Gaddock Hp 21. Draw Winter Orb… Gaddock Teeg on Battlefield… that means I screwed up. Let’s wind back the clock a bit. Nekusar didn’t play amything Illegal, but Atraxa Could have not Played Jace, nor Phyrexian Scriptures. So, Atraxa didn’t play Jace nor Phyrexian Scriptures, he played the Manastone and Rings of Brighthearth. Also Ancient Greenwarden hit 6, due to Mirari’s wake.

How Atraxas table looks really after turn 6, when Considering Gaddock was on table during his turn

Again… Turn 23 Gaddock HP21. Draw Winter Orb, due to Common Enemy nr.1 Nekusar He decides to not to play it.

Main Phase 1. Play Lair of Hydrs tapped to battlefield. Desperate move to take down as much as he can, Gaddock Attacks with all toward Narset, Nekusar want’s to keep Narset on battlefield so he must block Gaddock and 1 other. Nekusar himself blocks Rhys and Lier Blocks Gaddock. Gaddock uses Quirion Ranger to Untap Rhys and make a 1/1 token, before he bounces Rhys Sefris asks him to let Rhys die for Mimic Vat Promising he can remove Psychic Corrosion on his turn.. Gaddock agrees and Ends his turn.

Forgot 1/1 Elf token from Pic. End of Gaddock Turn 6.

Turn 24 Sefris Hp 21: Upkeep Land Tax activates, No basic lands left. Draw Solemn Simulacrum. Main Phase 1. Use Crypt Agadeem for 36xB mana. Cast Panharmonicon, 32, Cast Solemn Simulacrum, (Deck has 10 Cards) 28, mana left use 3 black from pool and 2 others to cast commander , 25 in pool, Unearth Corpse Connoiseeur, No good targets in deck so none chosen, 22 mana in in pool, pay 3 to activate Mimic Vat, 19, Equip Nim Deathmantle to Corpse Connoisseur.

Attack phase, Mana pool is emptied. Corpse Connoisseur and Rhys token attack toward Narset. Being Tapped out and with no Hand, Nekusar can see that Sefris has no combat trick up in his sleeve, so he Rather keeps Narset and blocks both Nekusar dying as he blocks Corpse Connoisseur. As Rhys Token dies Sefris Ventures and gets a Treasure token.

End of Turn, Corpse Connoisseur goes to Exile, Atraxa Activates Coalition Relics Charge Counter Ability and Uses Rings to get another.

End of Round 6. That Gaddock token is Green elf aside from what you see..

Turn 25 Atraxa HP 20, Draw Teferi, Temporal Archmage. Main Phase 1. Play a land from Graveyard. Cast Teferi, Temporal Archmage 12 mana still available from lands. Use +1 And copy it using Rings of Brighthearth. First check shows, Jace, Vryn’s Prodigy and Kiora, Master of the Depths, as Jace is Creature it will take full turn until he is udable, Taking Kiora. Second one is Portcullis and Sol Ring, Taking Portcullis.

Atraxa Attacks Nekusar with Ancient Greenwarden and Narset with Araxa, due to Mirari’s Wake Atraxa deals 5 damage with Lifelink, Narset is gone, Lier does not block Greenwarden and Nekusar takes 6 damage.

Main Phase 2. Cast Portcullis and Kiora, Master of thr Depths. With only 12 cards on his deck, Atraxa is worried about being milled. So using Kiora’s +1 instead of drawing more. As he only has 1 tapped creature there is no gain on copying this ability. End of Turn Atraxa Profilirates, + 1 Counter to both Planeswalkers.

End of Atraxa Turn 6.

Turn 26. Nekusar, Hp 26. Takes 1 Damage from Mana Vault on Untap step. On Upkeep cast Vampiric Tutor with Flashback to look for a card to draw. Tutors Reforge the Soul and casts it for Miracle cost.

New hands
Mills.

As all other players are now with no deck, Nekusar does not play anything else and passes the turn so others can die drawing from noncards left on their deck.

The Winner is Nekusar! Psychic Corrosion and Lier really made the game.

This really showed me how my decks need more spot removal.
